BIT OF A CURATES EGG  |

I have been using Norton A.V. and firewall for the past three years with few problems, on my 800mhz PC.
This time round I decided to install McAfee Internet Security Suite.
It installed reasonably easily, although some confusing messages appeared on updating it on the internet.
The product seems easy enough to use with nice graphics.The firewall looks particularly impressive with maps available to see where your attempted hackers have come from.
However, when I tried to use Outlook Express it was dead slow and stop. Disabling the A.V. did not make any difference.
Eventually I ended up installing another e-Mail Program which works fine.
To date, Ive also had problems with my scanners copy software.
It refuses to work unless the Anti Virus is switched off.
So, Im really not sure whether McAfee is that great or not.
Perhaps if I had a faster processor it would be fine.

This software to put it simply, is amazing. When you buy the software and get all the best that McAfee has to offer including Virus Scanner 7, Firewall 5 and QucikClean. Another good point is like many other software companies now, they offer the ability download product updates automatically which includes the very usefull VisualTrace program. I shows you visually with graphics which computers you are ocnnected to on the internet. Ive always used McAfee so obviously I bought this latest addition, and I would reccomend it to anyone else whos thinking of buying internet security software.

Good Program - But Has Its Faults! |

I found the installation went ok, but the configuration and updating via the Internet kept rebooting my PC on its own with no warning whatsoever. In the end I copied a new backup image of my OS onto the hard drive and tried again. Still some problems, but now it seems to be up and running, although I still dont know if everything updated correctly as the app kept crashing during the updating process. I have to say though that it is a very comprehensive system with some great features and in general I would recommend it, but only with the note that you shouldnt necessarily expect the setting up to go without a hitch. This is my experience with it anyway.
